Als Kunsthistorikerin habe ich mich auf europäische Kunst vom späten 18. bis zum frühen 20. Jahrhundert und ihre interkulturellen Beziehungen spezialisiert. Meine besonderen Interessengebiete sind Symbolismus, Japonismus, Jugendstil, europäische Grabmalkunst des 19. Jahrhunderts sowie die Kunst- und Kulturgeschichte der nordischen Länder. Und natürlich alles Dunkle und Düstere in der Kunst!
2017 promovierte ich an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin mit einer Arbeit zum Thema „Die Grabmalkunst von Karl Friedrich Schinkel (1781–1841)“, (erschienen im Deutschen Kunstverlag 2017). Von 2018 bis 2023 war ich abwechselnd als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin und Dozentin am Kunsthistorischen Seminar der Universität Leipzig tätig. Derzeit lebe ich in Stockholm und arbeite hauptsächlich an einem Forschungsprojekt zum Thema „Melancholie, Tod und Weiblichkeit in der nordischen Kunst“ (Arbeitstitel).
As an art historian, I specialize in European art from the late 18th to the early 20th century and its intercultural relationships. My particular areas of interest are Symbolism, Japonism, Art Nouveau, 19th-century European sepulchral art, and the art and cultural history of the Nordic countries. And, of course, all things dark and gloomy in art!
In 2017, I received my Ph.D. at the Humboldt University in Berlin with a thesis on "The sepulchral Art of Karl Friedrich Schinkel (1781-1841)/Die Grabmalkunst von Karl Friedrich Schinkel", (published by Deutscher Kunstverlag 2017). From 2018 till 2023 I worked alternately as a research assistant and lecturer at the Department of Art History at the University of Leipzig. Currently, I am living in Stockholm and working mainly on a research project on „Melancholy, death, and femininity in Nordic art“ (working title).
